The spiral wound gaskets are used to replace asbestos free or graphite flat gaskets when their limits of applications are exceeded. These gaskets are produced by winding of metallic strip, preformed V, alternated with inorganic fillers. We can produce on specific standards (ASME, API, UNI EN) or customer’s design. Thanks to their elasticity, spiral wound gaskets could be used with low load of clamping, to compensate the irregular surfaces of the flanges. Main material used are AISI 316, INCONEL, HASTELLOY and fillers like GRAPHITE or PTFE.

The Ring-joints are used when the gasket compressibility is not the main characteristics . The sealing power is obtained through the compression with very high load, which in some cases must be higher than the ultimate tensile stress of the gasket. It is necessary to produce gaskets with lower hardness material than the flanges one.  Ring joints are used on flanges with double casing, on valves caps for high temperature and pressures. Main material used are AISI 316, SOFT IRON, INCONEL, HASTELLOY.

The double jacketed gaskets consist of an insert in asbestos-free joint, carton board, PTFE or other materials, with a metal strip covering it called metal jacket. They are easily compressible, they could withstand high temperatures and pressures, they could support compression from 20% to 30% on the original thickness. The sealing effect is obtained through the compression of the central part of the gasket due to its clamping between the flanges.
